The Group has eight products in the pipeline under development;
they are mainly derived from peptides and microbiological
sources. In relation to the research areas, CMS is primarily
engaged in development of small molecular polypeptide, the
microbiology product, oligonucleotide and antibiotic development
focusing on therapeutic areas and major diseases in oncology,
hepatic diseases, human immune system, and digestive system.
Tyleuseuleutide (CMS024), one of our self-developed innovative
products, obtained "Orphan Drug" status by US FDA
in 2004, and has already passed technical examination by SFDA.
It is our hope that this will be the first peptide for treatment
of liver cancer in the world.
Through years' effort, CMS has gathered certain R&D professionals,
both in pre-clinical research and clinical trials and established
sizeable R&D bases, which combine the R&D platform
of CMS with industrialized commercialization potential. As
of 31 March 2007 our research and development team comprised
of 60 research personnel and medical professionals with experience
in the drug R&D field. Meanwhile, CMS has maintained collaborations
with medical universities/colleges and research institutes
in China.CMS also strives to seek opportunities to collaborate
with Western research institutes, medical universities or
small-medium sized biotechnology companies.
