Continue engaging in new drug research and development
New drug R&D, is one of the most important activities of CMS Group. Through several years' effort, we have developed a diversified pipeline of peptide and micro-organism-based candidates, and parts of them are in different stages of development. Our research projects mainly concentrate on highly prevalent illnesses with few satisfactory treatments in China, such as tumor, hepatitis B, rheumatism, nephritis and gastrointestinal diseases. Our most matured candidate, CMS024, is pending market approval by the SFDA. Aside from continuing the development of current projects, we plan to research and develop additional candidates to expand our pipeline.

　Global R&D collaboration mode
With the total development costs of one new drug approaching one billion US dollars, many exciting and innovative compounds and technologies, which have potentials to become successful therapeutics to benefit millions of patients, are being left on the sideline. Nobody would want to invest on these innovations once their patent lives expire. One of CMS core R&D strategies is to in-license these innovations at early stage, utilize the established internal R&D platform, and quickly develop these compounds from preclinical, through clinical testing to commercialization in China. In the meantime, CMS also looks for out-licensing and collaboration opportunities in the global markets for compounds that have reached the clinical stages in China.
CMS is in an excellent position in taking advantage of the advanced basic research from the western world and leveraging the low costs and massive resources in China. CMS is committed to the development of more affordable medications for millions of patients in China as well as the world at large.
